Jeanne W. Meyer Mckinney

Jeanne W. Meyer McKinney, 100, of Dover died Saturday, October 17, 2009 in the Hennis Care Centre.

Born July 9, 1909 in New Philadelphia, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Emile and Laura Work Meyer. Her husband, Frederick "Mac" McKinney who died on February 29, 1980; son, Frederick "Fritz" McKinney; son in law, Kenny Beitzel and sister, Catherine Lab, also preceded Jeanne in death.

Jeanne was a hard worker and was employed at various places including Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philaelphia were in the 1950's she was the church secretary. She and her husband Mac were very active within the church and had many memories of the wonderful people at Emmanuel. Jeanne never lost her sweetness or her sense of humor, and was still a competitive player, especially in Scrabble or Wheel of Fortune. But most importantly, Jeanne loved taking care of and spending time with her family.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Joyce Beitzel of Dover, three grandchildren, Jeff (wife, Shelly) Beitzel , Polly (husband, John) Anich and Jennifer (husband, Joe) Provenzano; six great grandchildren, Lee and Blake Beitzel, Sarah and Emily Anich and Mia and Matty Provenzano.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Stephen Patrick officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
