Helen M. Pingstock

Lifelong Strasburg resident Helen M. “Pinky” Pingstock, 95, died Saturday, January 22, 2005 in the New Dawn Health Care Center.

Born August 18, 1909 at Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late Winfield and Mary Briggs Hartline.

Helen was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg where she served many years as a Sunday School Teacher. Over the years she was also active as a Boy Scout and Brownie leader and was an avid Bingo player.

Although she spent her life caring for her home and family, she had worked outside of the home in the cafeteria at Strasburg High School and the Times Reporter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pingstock, who passed away May 16, 1980.

Survivors include: a daughter, Linda (Don) Weber of Strasburg; two grandchildren, Rob (Tanya) Weber of Mineral City and Heather (Jeff) Duff of Strasburg; and three great grandchildren, Eric & Hannah Duff and Scout Weber.

She is also survived by her very dear friend, Mary Ann Farthing.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by: a son, Kenneth Pingstock; four brothers, Glenn, David, Curtis and Arthur Hartline; and two sisters, Betty Studer and Bertha Smith.

A service that celebrates her life will be held Tuesday, January 25, at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Strasburg. Interment will be in Strasburg�(TM)s Grandview Union Cemetery. Following the burial, a reception will be held in the Social Hall at the First Lutheran Church of Strasburg. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Strasburg on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
