Helen L. Hruby

Helen L. Hruby, 85, of Dover, and a former Kent resident, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at the Country Club Retirement Center following an extended illness.

Born September 7, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Nellie Markel Miller.

She loved crocheting, Italian cutwork, making blankets for family and friends, playing cards, reading and watching movies. She also enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Hruby who died in 1980.

She is survived by three daughters: Lynn (Don) Ballantyne of Dover
Karen (Drew) Hinkle of Garrettsville, Ohio
Pam (Tom) Gibson of Revolo, Kentucky

Three grandchildren: Jill Ballantyne Albrecht, Gregory and Jason Frankhouser

Two great grandchildren: Spenser and Chandler

She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Donald L. Ballantyne II

Three brothers: Richard, Don and Orville Miller

Sister: Norma Nielsen

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2002 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Deacon Ron Fondriest officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial in the Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Friends can call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until service time.
