Hartsel Allen Lang

Hartsel Allen Lang, 85, of New Philadelphia passed away at the Community Hospice Truman House on Thursday, September 6, 2018.

Born on September 2, 1933 in Buckhannon, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Bert and Dorthey (Ramsey) Lang. He was also preceded in death by his wives; Esther Lang and Wilma Lang; and his son in-law, Pat Vargo.

He attended Beach City High School. Hartsel retired from the Timken Company, where he was a crane operator for 42 years. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting. He was also a licensed pilot and owned his own plane.

He leaves behind his son; David (Kathy) Lang; daughter, Terry Vargo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Jeffries; and brother, Ernie Lang.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Strasburg on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 am. A graveside service will take place at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg at 11:30am on Saturday with Pastor Gary Forney officiating.
