Harold D. "Gilly" Gilmore

Harold D. “Gilly” Gilmore, 84, of New Philadelphia passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Union Hospital.

He was born on May 27, 1936 in Gilmore, Ohio; retired from Reeves Steel after 30 years of service, and was a member of the New Philadelphia VFW Auxiliary. Gilly was an animal lover, especially dogs and cats.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Dawn Gilmore on December 7, 2017; son, Mike Gilmore and three sisters. He is survived by his children, David (Theresa) Gilmore, Debbie (Bob) Barrett, Tanya (Jeff) Dickey, Mark Meechan; grandchildren, Hannah and Kyle Meechan, Cory (Jess) Ferris, Janessa and Jeremy Gilmore, Brandi (Bob) Hudnal, Allison (John) Buerkel, Zack Barrett, Jeffrey Dickey Jr., Virginia Dickey; and many great grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Per Gilly’s wishes, there are no services or calling hours. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Gilly may do so by visiting the online obituaries link on the funeral home’s website.
