Gomer D. Lewis

Gomer D. Lewis, 54, of Dover died on Saturday, October 28, 2000 at Aultman Hospital following a brief illness.

He retired in 1999 from Republic Engineered Steel at Massillon after 35 years of service.

Born June 10, 1946 in Dover he was a son of Hazel Rousch Lewis of Strasburg and the late Algie Lewis.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, auto racing and helping others. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was member of the Steel Workers Union 1124.

Gomer is survived by his wife Peggy Barker Lewis with whom he celebrated 35 years of marriage on March 9, 2000.

He is survived by two daughters: Leanna Lewis and her companion Chase Tennant of
Canton
Laurinda Lewis of Dover

Son: Gomer and Misty Lewis of Dover.

Three sisters: Beulah and Bill Hensel of Strasburg
Dorothy and Tom Tonn of Massillon
Gloria and Bob Wentling of Navarre

Five grandchildren: Rebecca, Debbie, Samantha, Jennifer and Thane.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Steven Court officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
