Glenn R. Limbacher

Glenn R. Limbacher, 70, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, in Union Hospital, Dover, following a long illness.

Born Aug. 9, 1934, in Winfield, he was a son of the late Russell Allen and Mary Octava Holderbaum Limbacher. Glenn graduated from Dover High School in 1952 and joined the United States Air Force, in which he served twenty-three years both stateside and in seven foreign lands. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. In civilian life, Glenn operated his own business, Tech Designs, working in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD). He did both architectural and mechanical drawing.

Glenn enjoyed working with both computers and aircraft. He was a licensed private pilot, and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Additionally, he was a member of the Retired Enlisted Association. In his youth, Glenn was an outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, trap-shooting and fishing. In later years, he especially liked going out to breakfast with his sisters and brothers. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Darla Jean Blacka Limbacher, with whom he celebrated fifty years of marriage on Dec. 27, 2003; three sons, Frank (Gale) Limbacher of Minnesota, Robert Limbacher of Virginia, and Steve (Connie) Limbacher of Stone Creek; a daughter, Marsha (Jeff) McRobie of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Jason Limbacher, Emily and Jesse Limbacher, Laura (James) Coleman, Joshua (Mindy) Limbacher, Seth and Kayla McRobie; a great-granddaughter, Megan Coleman; two sisters, Norma Nicewander of Dayton, and Karen (Bob) Jenei of Strasburg; two brothers, Edwin (Florence) Limbacher of New Philadelphia, and Jerry (Karen) Limbacher of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

A service celebrating Glenn�(TM)s life will be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 10:30 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 803 N. Wooster Ave., Dover. Rev. Richard G. Rose of the Dover Alliance Church officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg, where there will be military rites.
