Glenn E. Straub, 75, of Dover, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed from this life Wednesday, Apr. 20, 2005.

Born Apr. 8, 1930, in Dover, he was a son of Minnie M. Kasserman Straub of Parral, and the late Louis E. Straub. Glenn was a 1948 graduate of Dover High School. He was employed by the Warner & Swasey Co, Shenango Penn Mold, Babcock & Wilcox, and retired in 1997 from Dover Conveyor and Equipment Co. as a foreman after twenty-six years of service.

Glenn was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover. He was a Master Mason belonging to Caldwell Lodge No. 330 F. & A.M. of Bolivar, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, A.A.R.P., and the Pine Hill Hunting Club.

He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting (especially deer hunting), fishing and camping with his family. He was an excellent gardener, starting plants from seed and deriving much joy from watching them grow. Glenn was admired for his gardening skills and his beautiful rose garden. He dearly loved his grandchildren, and felt privileged to be a part of their lives.

In addition to his mother, Glenn is survived by his wife Martha Charnock Straub, whom he married Nov. 25, 1951 in the First United Methodist Church; a son, Dr. Timothy A. (Ann) Straub of Eugene, OR; a daughter, Brenda Sue (Gale) Kimble of Dover; four grandchildren, Heidi, Daniel and Christopher Straub of Eugene, and Scott Kimble of Dover; two step-grandchildren, Shane Kimble and Jennifer (Jason) Newburn of New Philadelphia; two brothers, Lloyd (Doris) Straub of Strasburg, and Delmar (Jean) Straub of Dover; and several nieces and nephews in the Dover-Strasburg area.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Apr. 23, at 1:30 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Larry R. Black officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park.
