Fred R. Schupbach

Fred R. Schupbach, 58 of Dover and Atwood Lake died Monday, October 4, 1999 at Union Hospital following a short illness.

Born May 6, 1941 in Dover, he was the son of Paul Schupbach of Dover and the late Esther Dumermuth Schupbach.

He was a 1959 graduate of Dover High School, a graduate of the Machinist Apprenticeship Program at Warner & Swasey and earned a B.S. and M.B.A. from the Ohio State University.  He also held a C.D.P.--Institute for Certification in Data Processing.  Mr. Schupbach held various management positions with manufacturing facilities and had been a part-time instructor at Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus.

Mr. Schupbach was a life long member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover, former member of the Dover Jaycees, a member of the New Philadelphia Elks and Atwood Yacht Club.

While at Ohio State he was an active member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and Ohio Staters Inc. which was instrumental in the creation of Brutus Buckeye.  He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and was a collector of sports memorabilia.

Mr. Schupbach is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susanne Mellor Schupbach, two sons--Jamie Schupbach of Elyria and Chad Schupbach of the home, brother Matt Schupbach and close friend Mark Kandel.  In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by one brother Tom Schupbach.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 1999 at 11:00 am at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating.  Interment will be at Dover Burial Park.  There are no calling hours.  The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Building Improvement Fund at St. John's United Church of Christ, 409 N. Wooster Ave. Dover, Ohio 44622.
