Franklin R. Widder

Franklin R. Widder, 64, of Dundee, Ohio died Saturday, February 12, 2005 following a sudden illness while tending to his Belgium horses on his farm.

Frank was a truck driver for Reese Trucking Company at Dover where he was employed for over thirty years.

Born May 25, 1940 in Brewster, Ohio, the son of the late Ronald and Dorothy Malcuit Widder.

He formerly served on the Tuscarawas County Fair Board. He was a member of numerous horse associations. He was an avid horseman having driven his team of Belgians in numerous parades including the Kentucky Derby and Hall of Fame Festival.

Frank is survived by his wife, Rita Roush Widder with whom he would have celebrated 28 years of marriage on June 15. He is also survived by four children; Terry (Tara) Spidell II of Bolivar, Kimberly (Matt) Peters and their children, Tysen, Taylor, Tanner, and Tucker of Uhrichsville; Kathy (Ed) Atkins and their children, Justin and Brandon of Dover, Ronald (Cis) Widder and children, Cory, Mandy, and Trey of Kansas; Four sisters, Nancy ( Larry) Dolvin of East Sparta, Bonnie (Pete) Oberson of Concord, Ohio, Roberta (Randy) of Massillon, and Clara Mae (Bill) Milhorn of Mesa, Arizona; father in law and mother in law, Bob (Ann) Roush of New Philadelphia along with several nieces, nephews including a special nephew, Eric Dayton and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, William R. “Billy” Widder.

A celebration of Frank�(TM)s life will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at 11am in the First Assembly of God Church in New Philadelphia with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church. At Frank�(TM)s request, cremation will follow services. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover on Wednesday from 5-8 pm and at the church Thursday from 10-11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Childrens Hospital Medical Center in Akron or the Ronald McDonald House in Akron in honor of his grandson, Tucker Peters.
