Floyd E. Burrier

October 30, 1941 — July 23, 1999

Floyd E. Burrier, 57, of 1790 Nageley Rd. (Barnhill) New Philadelphia, Ohio died Friday, July 23, 1999 in his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Floyd retired in 1995 from the Empire Detroit Steel Company at Dover following 34 ½ years of service.  Following retirement, he worked for the Tolloti Plastic Pipe Inc. at Roswell.

Born October 30, 1941 in Dover, he was the son of Lina Deibel Burrier of New Philadelphia and the late Eugene Burrier.

He was a member of the B & A Primitive Weapons Club at Roswell and was involved with his grandson in Cub Scouts and also assisted with the Midvale Little League Program.  He enjoyed gardening and making primitive weapons.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Blanche (Joanne) Mowrer Burrier with whom he would have celebrated 38 years of marriage on Aug. 19.

He is also survived by two daughters  Beth Ann Lang and Melissa Jo Bren and her fiance Donald Gordon Jr. all of New Philadelphia and one son, Paul Eugene Burrier of Columbus.

Six grandchildren  Kelsie & Kyla Burrier,  Blake & Sara Lang, Caitlyn Bren, and Joshua Gordon

Two Brothers Charles W. (Betty) Burrier and David P. (Mary Lee) Burrier both of Sherrodsville
One Sister  Mary Jean Luyster of Strasburg
His father in law Paul (Joyce) Mowrer of New Philadelphia and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Floyd was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Krisie Burrier and Trenton Burrier, his mother in law, Madge Mowrer, and his brother in law John Luyster.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, July 26, 1999 at 1:00 PM in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating.  Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 6-9 PM.
