Florence H. Vesco

Florence H. Vesco, 82, of Dover died Friday, March 13,
2009 in Park Village Health Care Center in Dover following
an extended illness.

Born June 14, 1926 in Dover, she was the daughter of the
late Dan and Assunta Bonitati Monaco.

She married her husband, John Vesco Sr. on October 22,
1955. They were married 49 years until his death on April 18, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Link; three brothers, Frank, Herman, and Joe Monaco; and two sisters, Dolanda Margo and Norma Dickerhoof.

Florence retired in 1988 from Goshen Dairy in New
Philadelphia.

Florence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Dover where she was involved with the Christian Mothers,
St. Joseph Seniors, the Study Club, and the American Italian
Club. She loved all sports, especially bowling, and was
an avid New York Yankees fan. She also enjoyed playing
cards with her friends. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.


Survivors include a son, John (Kelly) Vesco Jr. of Green
Bay, Wisconsin; her daughter, Connie Lawver of Dover; her sister, Rose (husband, John) Voelm of Dover and seven grandchildren, Rachel, Mitchell, and Matthew Vesco, Nick and Samantha Lawver, Jared Domer, and Burt Link; her son in law, Steve Link of New Philadelphia; sister in law, Eleanor Vesco of New Philadelphia and brother in law Vic (wife, Shirley) Vesco of Columbus.

A Rite of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover
on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. She will be buried beside her husband, John in Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 5-8pm. Christian Wake services will be held Tuesday at 7:45 pm.
