Eva M. Pope

Eva M. Pope, 78, of Dundee, Ohio died Thursday, January 22, 2004 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following complications from diabetes.

Born November 3, 1925 in Brewster, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine Everett Gehring.

Eva was a member of the Barrs Mill Church of God. She was also active in the Senior Citizens and the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. She enjoyed playing cards and working puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Pope who died June 25, 1981. She was also preceded by a grandson, Joey, a granddaughter, Laurie along with three sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by one daughter Barbara (Paul) Gish of New Philadelphia; five sons, Joe Thane of Waynesburg, R. Larry Pope of Strasburg, James Pope and Linda of Massillon; Fred Pope and Ann of Dundee, and Dan Pope and Ida of Dundee; two brothers, Peter Gehring and Maxine of Massillon and Walter “Fibber” Gehring and Rozetta of Massillon along with 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and two special friends, Maxine Stutzman and Jewell Himes.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2004 at 11 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Scott Snyder officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 pm.
