Eugene N. Petricola

Eugene "Gene" N. Petricola, age 79, a lifelong resident of Dover passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 at Wesley Glen in Columbus.

Gene was an employee of the Invincible Vacuum Plant for 13 years and then worked at the Dover Light Plant where he retired after 25 years of service as an operating engineer in generation.

Born December 10, 1929 in Dover, he was the son of the late Sam and Louise (Zuchegno) Petricola.

Gene was a 1948 graduate of Dover High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was a Staff Sergeant. Gene had a great appreciation for simple pleasures and loved his wife, his family and friends, and the town of Dover.

His is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia; his daughter and son in law, Paige and Jim Schwab; his granddaughters, April and Jessica Schwab; his sister, Rose Graef; his aunt, Wilma Zuchegno; brother in law Gary (Gloria) Hinerman along with one niece and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Fr. Matt Hoover officiating. Entombment will be in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11am.
