Erma B. Adams

Erma B. Adams, 93, a longtime Mineral City resident who had also resided throughout Tuscarawas County in later years, died Monday, December 19, 2005 in the Park Village Health Care Center.

She was born, November 25, 1912 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Elizabeth Riggle Dessecker.

For 29 years, Erma worked as a tile mounter and inspector for the Sparta Ceramic Company, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the Dover Baptist Temple. She had been active with Tuscarawas County YMCA and was a very talented dancer who could still gave a great version of the Charleston even later in her years.

Erma had a soft spot in her heart for the important people in her life as well. For years after her retirement, she, along with what was normally a car full of friends, would make the rounds visiting shut-ins. She also cherished her role of grandmother and dearly loved each moment spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by: two sons, Dale (Glenda) Adams of Somerdale, and Elden Ray (Ann) Adams of Sheffield, PA; twelve grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Harry L. “Leroy” (Gloria) Dessecker of Strasburg; sister, Martha Emaline Olivet of Bolivar; a daughter-in-law, Betty Adams of Mineral City, many nieces and nephews, and many loving friends, including special friend, Ellen Schlimm of Strasburg.

In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by a son, Earl Adams, and a granddaughter, Lila K. Adams.

A funeral service celebrating Erma�(TM)s life will be held Thursday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Phila. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from noon until time of services at 2:00 p.m.
