Elinor J. Strawn, 95, of New Philadelphia died Sunday, July 6, 2014 in the Amerberwood Manor.

Born July 14, 1918 in New Cumberland she was a daughter of the late Ora and Vesta Shaffer Davy. Elinor was also preceded in death by her husband, Roland L. Strawn, in 1993.

She was a faithful member of New Cumberland United Methodist Church and the Fairfield Grange.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Elinor will be sadly missed by her daughers, Sharon (Larry) Work of Uhrichsville and Monna (John) Garver of New Philadelphia; sisters, Mary Houze of Mineral City and Lois (Mitch) Alsept of Strasburg; several grand and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at 246 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia with Pastor Ted Knapp officiating. Interment will be in the Holmes Church Cemetery. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
