Edward Larry Estlund

Edward Larry “Papa” Estlund, 63, of Strasburg, Ohio died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 in Union Hospital following an extended illness.

Illness forced Larry�(TM)s retirement in 1985 from the Joy Mfg. Company at New Philadelphia where he worked for twenty years. He also owned and operated the former Village Bakery in Strasburg.

Born May 3, 1941 in Port Huron, Michigan, he was the son of the late Henry L. and Rosemary Darrah Estlund.

Larry enjoyed tropical fish and plants and especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their sports activities. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Linda McMullen Estlund along with three children, Brian (Angie) Estlund and children, Amanda, Ashley, Logan, Luke, and Lexxi of Bryan, Texas; Heather (Ryan) Cottrell and son, Hunter Schneeberger; and Brandon (Heather) Estlund and children, Corey, Nathaniel, and Mikinsee and a great grandson, Riley of Texas. Four sisters, Carol (Eugene) Chandler, Mary Robbins, Linda Coad all of Michigan and Gale Applefeller of Texas.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Butch, and Dale and an infant sister, Kathleen.

At Larry's request, cremation has taken place.
A service celebrating Larry's life will be held Sunday, March 6, 2005 in the Dover Church of Christ with Bob Mann officiating. Friends will be received at the church Sunday from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
