Earl A. Gordon

Earl A. Gordon, 79, of Dover died Sunday, March 17, 2002 at his home following an extended illness.

He retired in 1983 from Commercial Honing in Dover after fourteen years of service.

Born October 21, 1922 in Dover he was a son of the late Arthur and Katherine King Gordon.

He was an Army veteran of WW II, having served in the Tank Destroyers and was a life member of the Dover VFW. He loved working with his hands and could fix just about anything. He also collected ashtrays and clocks and enjoyed talking on the CB.

Earl was preceded in death by his first wife Alma Breniser Gordon who died in 1961, second wife Doris Tschudy Gordon who died in 1983 and is survived by his third wife Lois Green Gordon with whom he celebrated 18 years of marriage on January 29, 2002.

He is also survived by a daughter: Earlene (James) Kennedy of Uhrichsville

Three stepdaughters: Vicki (Calvin) Price of Uhrichsville
Glendora Evans and her companion Kenneth Fuhrer of Beach City
Jackie (James) Vanaman of Coshocton

Four stepsons: Bill Green and his companion Katie Collins of Pittsburgh, Pa
Bobby Beatty and his companion Gay Rich of Dover
Mitchell (Teresa) Beatty of New Philadelphia
Ron (Marlene) Tschudy of Dover

Sister: Ada (Donald) Keffer of Strasburg

26 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren

He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Katherine Gordon

Sister: Edna Stein

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2002 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Bob Jones officiating.
