Dorothy E. Clark

Dorothy E. Clark, 90, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 11, 2010, while visiting her daughter in Columbia, South Carolina.

Born February 17, 1920, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Walter E. and Emma Kendle Harmon. She attended school in Dover and was a sales agent and group leader for Stanley Home Products for more than forty years, retiring in 2000. Dorothy was a faithful member of the Wooster Highway Church of God in Parral. She prided herself on her independence. Aside from work and church, she enjoyed painting and firing ceramics, sewing, playing cards and shopping.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Joyce Gossard of Elgin, SC; a son, Kenneth (wife, Donita) Klein of New Philadelphia; two granddaughters, Pamela Marsh of Bolivar, and Dawn (husband, Mike) Smith of North Carolina; four great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Clinton Harmon, of Tuscarawas; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Klein, in 1991; her second husband, Dan Davies, in 1994; her third husband, Frank Clark, in 2002; a son, Albert “Rosie” Klein; a sister, Beatrice Harmon; and by two brothers, William and Charles Harmon.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 16, at 1:30 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Kenneth Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park.
