Doris B. Schumacher

Doris B. Schumacher, 90, passed away on October 13, 2021 at her home peacefully surrounded by her friends and family. She was born on December 16, 1930, to Walter and Ethel Schumacher in Zanesville, Ohio. Doris was a resident of East Circle/ East High and Bradford Homes Agency group home where she lived for the last 44 years of her life.


Doris was a member of the Good Shepherd class at First Baptist church where she enjoyed singing Gentle Shepherd each Sunday and participating in events. She had also attended the SEI workshop since 1977 and made life long friends there.
Doris had such a loving heart and always tried to put a smile on everyone’s face. She enjoyed coloring pictures, sewing, and doing puzzles.


Doris was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Ethel Schumacher, siblings Garnet, Mary, Earl, Donald and George, and foster father John Bradford.


Doris is survived by her foster mother Karen Moore and foster siblings Kary Rader, David Bradford and John Bradford, her housemates Delores, Kassie, and Linda, her friends Levi, Scott, and Robert, Bradford Homes Staff, as well as many friends from her church and SEI.


Cremation has taken place through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover.
