Donald ''Jake'' Lentz

Donald ''Jake'' Lentz, 74, of Dover, died Thursday, November 8, 2001 in his home.

Jake was a longtime railroad worker, having ended his career as a car inspector with the B&O Railroad.

Born 10, 1927 at Dover, he was son of the late William & Ada Pearch Lentz.

He was a member of the St. Johns United Church of Christ at Dover. A Navy veteran, Jake was also a member of the Dover VFW and was also a member of Tuscarawas Lodge #59 F & A.M.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Watkins Lentz, who died June 28, 1995.

Survivors include: four children; Belinda Lentz of New Philadelphia, Jeanne Mahoney of Charleston, SC, Dave Lentz of Ft. Collins, CO, and Barbara Lentz of Dover, two grandchildren; Jessica & Chad Simpson, great grandchild, Gauge Lawver, sister, Joanne & Skip Rondinella of Dover, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jake was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Dunbar, and an infant brother Billy.

In keeping with Jake's wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held Monday, November 12, at 11:00am in the St. Johns United Church of Christ at Dover with Rev. Steve Daniels and Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45am and Masonic services will be held at 10:45am.

Inurnment will follow services in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
