Donald E. Moran

Donald E. “Bud” Moran, 79, of 1511 Cross St., Dover, Ohio died Sunday, May 9, 2004 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following a brief illness.

He was a retired US Postal employee for the Dover Post Office.

Born April 13, 1925 in New Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Laura M. Aeling Moran.

He was a longtime Quarter Master at the Dover VFW, member of the Dover American Legion Post and several other veterans organizations. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed playing the organ.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife Alice M. Carruthers Moran who died September 10, 1997. He was also preceded by a stepson, Edward Wagner.

He is survived by his step daughter in law, Sandra Wagner of Dover; five step grandchildren Tim Wagner of Dover, Tom Wagner of Mineral City, Terry Wagner and Wendy McAfee both of New Philadelphia and Lori Mutti of Stone Creek along with ten step great grandchildren. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, John Moran of New Philadelphia, Jim (Jean) Moran of Strasburg, Clyde (Ruth) Moran of Tappan Lake, George (Amelia) Moran of New Philadelphia, Dorothy Lang of Dover and Laura (Dale) Redman of New Philadelphia and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 11 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home in Dover on Friday from 6-9pm.
