Dean L. Wilcoxon

March 8, 1924 — August 31, 1999

Dean L. Wilcoxon, 75, of 203 McKinley Ave., Dover, Ohio died Wednesday, August 31, 1999 in the Park Village Health Care Center following an extended illness.

He retired in 1986 as an employee of the Joy Mfg. Company at New Philadelphia where he worked for 39 years.  He was also the financial secretary of the Joy Mfg. Union for many years.

Born March 8, 1924 in Dover, he was the son of the late James and Eva Fawcett Wilcoxon.

Dean was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dover, Past Master and member of the Tuscarawas Masonic Lodge at Dover, Tuscarawas County Eastern Star, Royal Arch Masons in New Philadelphia, Dover American Legion, and the Tusky VFW.  He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Edwards Wilcoxon with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage March 6.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Wilcoxon

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 4, 1999 at 11:00 AM in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. James Scott officiating.  Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services.   Friends can call at the funeral home Friday from 6-9.  Masonic Services will be Friday at 5:45 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church at Dover.
