Davetta L. Hill

Davetta L. Hill, 49, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly Monday, June 1, 2009, in Aultman Hospital, Canton. Davetta had battled kidney disease most of her life.

Born, November 8, 1959, in Dover, she was a daughter of Raymond R. and Carol L. Shaler Hill of New Philadelphia. Davetta attended both New Philadelphia and Dover schools. Through a lifetime of adversity, largely due to illness, she maintained an indomitable spirit and did her very best to provide a loving, nurturing environment for her son, Donnie. Davetta's life ended far too soon; she will be sadly missed by her family and her friends.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son Donnie Dennison and his companion, Stephen Fritto, of Westover, West Virginia; lifelong friend, and Donnie's father, Don Dennison of Dennison; a sister RayLa Hill of New Philadelphia; a brother and his fiance, Jack Hill and Elizabeth Kennedy, also both of New Philadelphia; a niece and her husband, LaRay and Hari Kakanuru of Wooster; a niece, Jackie Williams of New Philadelphia; a nephew and his wife, Keith and Keri Hill of South Carolina; a nephew, Wendell Barr of New Philadelphia; three great-nieces and three great-nephews; special friends, Isabell, Amber, Caren and Sharon, Toots and Rich Brooks, the Angelozzi Family and the Laurita Family; and her beloved companion, her dog, Paylo.

Davetta will be cremated, and a memorial gathering will be held Sunday, June 7, beginning at 12 noon, in Maurer's Grill, Davetta's family's tavern, at 648 W. High Ave., New Philadelphia.
