Clara Krantz, 83, of Amberwood Manor, New Philadelphia, and a long-time resident of Dover-Zoar Road N.E., Dover, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006, in Amberwood following a sudden illness.

Born June 4, 1923, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late George and Ellen Wiegand Krantz. Clara was employed as a cook at the former Pearl Christner�(TM)s and also worked at the Pearl Bakery, both of Dover. Clara and her brother, the late John Krantz, owned a small farm where they raised Suffolk sheep and cut and sold wood.

Clara enjoyed keeping in touch with her friends by telephone, and sending birthday and get-well cards. For years, she cared for her brother John, who had contracted polio as a child. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover.

A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 19, at 10 a.m., in St. Joseph�(TM)s, 613 N. Tuscarawas Ave. Those planning to attend the Mass are instructed to go directly to the church on Saturday. Burial will be in St. Peter Church Cemetery, Lawrence Township, Tuscarawas County. There is no visitation. Arrangements are in the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover.
