Clara Ann Raber

Clara Ann Raber, 73, of New Philadelphia passed away at Cleveland Clinic on Saturday, July 23, 2016 with her family by her side.

Born in her home in Sugarcreek, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Elizabeth (Miller) Raber. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Elmer Raber, John Henry Raber, and Joseph S. Raber Jr.; and her sister, Edna (Allen) Beller. She attended Barrs Mills School. She worked for over 30 years at the Timken Company.

Her family was very important to her. She spent many hours writing and publishing a family history book called "Cheaper by the Dozen." Her favorite past time was listening to her family tell stories. She also enjoyed gardening. She was a very active member of Lifeway Assembly of God in New Philadelphia where she volunteered every Thursday.

She will be sadly missed by her two sons; Randy (Marijane) Raber of Lore City, Philip (Jennifer) Raber of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Peter Gravens, Jonathan (Morgan) Raber, Nathan (Amy) Raber, Casey Raber; great grandson, Cooper Raber; sisters, Mary Shrock, Gertrude (John) Hall, Elizabeth (Aden) Yoder; brothers, Jonas (Katherine) Raber, Robert (Delores) Raber, Daniel Raber, and Noah (Gloria) Raber; along with three sisters in law, Freida, Shirley, and Jackie Raber.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 5-7pm. Following visitation, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at the Lifeway Assembly of God, in New Philadelphia on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:30am with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. After the service, a meal will be served in the church social hall.
