Charles W. Sparks

Charles W. “Chuck” Sparks, 66, a 45-year resident of Brewster, died Tuesday, September 27, 2005 in Massillon Community Hospital.

Born July 12, 1939 in Lancaster, KY, Chuck was the son of the late John E. and Stella Barger Sparks.

Chuck was a hard worker. As was a member of the Canton Local Union for construction workers and over the years worked on a variety of projects throughout Stark & Tuscarawas counties.

He was also a man that loved the outdoors. Chuck spent his leisure time creating memories with his three sons while fishing on Lake Erie and camping. He was also a “gear head” and NASCAR enthusiast, who, until recently, had enjoyed working on his own cars as well.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Alice F. Grove Sparks. The two looked forward to their upcoming wedding anniversary on December 14, which would have marked their 43rd year of marriage.

Other survivors include: his aforementioned three sons whom he loved dearly, Michael and Pam of Dover, Douglas and Lorie of Sherrodsville, and Eric and Kelly of Brewster; 3 step-grandchildren, Sam, Chuck and Todd; seven grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Amanda, Krystle, Nicholas, Tonya, Tyler and Amber; 3 great grandchildren; three brothers, James, Curtis and Marvin; and two sisters, Sheila and Yvonna.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.

A Ceremony celebrating Chuck�(TM)s life will be held Friday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover with Pastor Jody Grove officiating. Interment will be in Strasburg�(TM)s Grandview Union Cemetery. Following the burial, family and friends will be received at a luncheon held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard.

Friends may call in the funeral home in Dover on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
