Charles "Chuck" Gibbons

Charles L. “Chuck” Gibbons, 68, of Dover died Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 in the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital following complications from Covid.

Born Dec. 24, 1953 in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Lucille (Coury) Gibbons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, a twin brother who died at birth and Larry Gibbons.

Chuck was an assistant manager for several Walmart stores that include Massillon, New Philadelphia and Millersburg.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors and was an avid car enthusiast.

He is survived by his former wife, Lucia Gibbons of Dover; children Christopher (Dallas) Gibbons of Beaufort, S.C., Michael Gibbons of Dover, Sophia Gibbons of Dayton, Elizabeth Hemingway of Florida; a stepdaughter, Heather and his grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Bob Gibbons and Ron Gibbons; two sisters, Patti Di Bartolomeo and Cindy Ruggerio all of Wheeling, West Virginia along with many nieces and nephews.

Chuck will be cremated and a memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 3pm. Those who may wish to express a fond memory of Chuck can sign the online guestbook by visiting the funeral home website at www.tolandherzig.com
