Beloved son, brother and friend, Brian Paul Balder, 20, of Winfield died suddenly Tuesday, April 27, 2004 while at work.

He was an employee of the Belden Brick Company�(TM)s Sugarcreek operation where he worked in Plant number 6. Previously, he worked in the bakery at Dutch Valley Restaurant.

Brian was born, February 10, 1984 at Dover. He was the son of Ronald and Elsie Snyder Balder of Winfield.

He was a 2002 graduate of Dover High School and had attended Hocking College. While at DHS, Brian played the French Horn as a member of the Marching Tornadoes. He was also a fine tennis player and as a member of the Dover High team was a District Qualifier in 2001.

Brian�(TM)s true love was sports. He was a baseball fanatic having traveled with family to several major league parks across the country. He had a great collection of baseball cards and other signed memorabilia that he was very proud of including a gameball signed by his favorite player, Jim Thome.

He also enjoyed spending time hanging out with his friends and playing cards.

Brian was very much loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: a sister, Leah Balder and brother, Jared Balder, both of the home; maternal grandparents, Howard and Mary Snyder of Dundee; aunts and uncles, John and Sandy Kleinknecht of Sugarcreek, Fred Snyder, Roger Snyder, Delmer and Brenda Snyder and Jim and Linda Kirkpatrick all of Dundee and Kenny Snyder of Beach City, nine cousins.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Delmer and Dorothy Balder.

A funeral service celebrating Brian�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, May 1, at 11:00 a.m. in the Winfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Lu Ann Youngman officiating. Interment will follow in the Dover Burial Park.

Brian spent much of his time over the years playing basketball and other games in the church gymnasium, where visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. Friends may also call in the church on Saturday, one hour prior to services.

The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover is handling arrangements.
