Brenda Kay (Lienhard) Klein, 79, of Beach City passed peacefully away under the care of Crossroads Hospice, Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover, surrounded by her family. Her death follows a period of declining health.
A life-long resident of Beach City, Brenda was born November 22, 1943, to the late John G. and Glenda (Eyster) Lienhard. Brenda graduated from Fairless High School in 1961. On June 23, 1963, she married Donald R. Klein who survives. Together Brenda and Don enjoyed traveling and following NASCAR racing, the Cleveland Indians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Brenda was active in Girl Scouts for many years; she was a troop leader as well as neighborhood and district chair and was a past-president of the Fairless Band Boosters. She retired from the Junction Restaurant in Strasburg. Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia, and enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and completing word puzzles in her free time.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendi and son-in-law Clayton Waller of New Philadelphia; a step-son Donald L. Klein of Massillon, and his three children and three grandchildren; her brother J. Verne (Nancy) Lienhard of Beach City; sister-in-law Bonnie McMillan of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families, including a special niece Joni Koch of Beach City.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3rd starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg with Pastor Todd Gopp officiating. Interment will be in the South Lawn Cemetery at Beach City. The family will be greeting friends at the Strasburg funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 6 pm.
