Bonnie Sue Marchand

Bonnie Sue Marchand, 58, of Dover died Sunday, June 6, 2004 in Union Hospital following a brief illness.

She was a longtime employee of Buehlers in Dover where she was a friendly face helping friends and customers for 14 years. She had also been employed by the former Alsco Anaconda at Sugarcreek.

Born February 18, 1946 at Dover, she is the daughter of Margaret Hoopingarner Baker of Strasburg and the late Eldred “Bill” Baker.

Bonnie was a 1964 graduate of Dover High School. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Winfield where she had served as treasurer and member of church council. She took pride in working outside on her lawn making sure that everything was manicured and that all of her flowers were just right. She loved her family and close friends very much and always looked forward to the special time that she spent with her children, grandchildren and those that were close with her.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas “Bou” Marchand, with whom she would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on June 28.

Other survivors include: three children, Thomas Marchand of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Beth (Dan) Varner of Strasburg and Tyler (Darla) Marchand of Dover; four grandchildren, Shelby and Nathan Varner and Morgan and McKenna Marchand; two special children who had a special place in her life, Brian and Jason Willis; a dear friend of 50 years Rita Hensel of Winter Springs, FL and the many friends and family members that she touched in her own special way over the years.

A funeral service that celebrates her life will be held Thursday, June 10, at 2:30 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Pastor David Lathrop officiating. In keeping with her wishes, her body will be cremated following the service.

Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Those unable to attend or wishing to share a fond memory may sign the online register book for Bonnie by visiting the online obituaries link on the funeral home�(TM)s website.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. 3rd Street, Dover or to the Zion Lutheran Church at Winfield.
