Betty Walker

Betty Walker, age 81, of Strasburg, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 11, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 21, 1939, in Cuyahoga Falls, she was a daughter of the late Erwin and Erma Thompson Weselek. Betty attended school in Richfield, and, in 1966, married David L. Walker. David passed away four short years later in 1970. Betty was a member of the Dover Baptist Temple, and was a loving homemaker who adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Aside from her faith and family, some of her favorite pastimes were crocheting, knitting, coloring and working word puzzles.

Betty is survived by her children, Robert (Karen) and Philip (Joanna) Bunton, and Lottie Walker, all of Strasburg; her grandchildren, Melissa, Robert Jr., Christopher, Joshua, Samantha, Heather, Philip Jr., Chasity, Ronald, David, Summer, James, Markes, Crystal, John, Bruce Jr. and Sheldon; her many great-grandchildren; her long-time companion, Billy Joe Dunbar; her siblings, Erwin (Judith) Weselek Jr., Anna Johnson, and Patricia (Jesse) Miller; and her nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, David, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Bunton; her granddaughter, Jessica Byler; and her sister, Erma Mason.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 140 S. Bodmer Ave., Strasburg, on Thursday, April 15, 3 - 5 p.m. A service will follow at 5, officiated by Pastor Christopher Rhodes. Burial will be later, following cremation, in Strasburg’s Grandview Union Cemetery.
