Bernice M. Zimmerman

Bernice M. Zimmerman, 84, of Tuscarawas, and formerly of Brightwood, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 2, 1934 in Barnhill, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Mary Smitley Ohler Sr. Bernice was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dwight J. Zimmerman on June 25, 2010; five sisters; two brothers and her beloved dogs, Jake, Cindy Mae and Snuggles.

In her spare time, she enjoyed square dancing, going on family vacations, listening to her police scanner and taking rides to Amish country with her husband and children.

Bernice is survived by her children, Susan (Paul) Herman, Sally (Jeff) Paisley, Laura (Rob) Murphy all of New Philadelphia, Gary (Ginger) Zimmerman of Barnhill, Brenda (Mark) Brumit of Stone Creek, Doug (Kris) Zimmerman of Cambridge; one sister; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; three sisters in law; two brothers in law; special niece, Sherry Locker and dear friends, Gert Saperito and Gloris Clifton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Max Canfield officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
