Bernice G. Reiger

April 3, 1921 — July 30, 1999

Bernice G. Reiger, 78, of 10756 Buehler Rd. NE, Bolivar, and formerly of Strasburg, died Friday, July 30, in her home.

She had worked for US Ceramic Tile at East Sparta, and was formerly an aide at Apple Creek State Hospital.

Born April 3, 1921 at Tuscarawas, she was daughter of the late John and Florence Hunt Meek.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed seeing them participate in activities and sporting events.  

Bernice was a member of St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Reiger, who passed away February 25, 1987.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs Gene (Vivian) Willis of Strasburg and Mrs. George (Mary Louise) Bitikofer of Bolivar, 9 grandchildren, Debi Hite, Kelly & Chad Kanouff and Brian & Deana Bitikofer all of Strasburg, Mark & Sue Willis of Beach City, Carol & Bob Warner of Dover, Charlene Cantrill of New Phila., Ken Jr. & Lisa Grove of Columbus, Sheryl Myers of Bolivar, and Jackie & Terry Saunier of Moorseville, NC., nine grandchildren, one brother John (Woodie) Meek of Strasburg, 22 great grandchildren, one great great grandson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Grover, and 2 brothers Carl & Blair Meek.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 3, at 11am at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating.  Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover.  Friends may call in the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg or to Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
