Ann Weible

January 22, 1925 — January 21, 2014

Ann Weible, a lifelong resident of Dover, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, just one day shy of her eighty-ninth birthday, following complications of a stroke.

Born January 22, 1925, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Lucile Carpenter Arnold. Ann graduated from Dover High School in 1943, and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. She married William A. "Bill" Weible on November 27, 1948; the couple reared two children and shared nearly fifty-two years together before Bill's passing on July 8, 2000. Ann was an educator, having taught art in the Indian Valley School System. She retired in 1978 after twenty years of service.

She was a faithful member of the First Moravian Church at Dover, and was a charter member and past president of Dover's Junior Clionian Club. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing bridge and doing needlework.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth (William) Lahrman of Marion, Indiana; her son, Robert Weible of Rocky River; her five grandchildren, Rob (Amanda) Myers, Sarah (Steve) Hecksel, Ben (Becca), David and Will Weible; and her four great-grandchildren, Ellie, Liam and Wesley Hecksel, and Lincoln Weible.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, Bill, Ann was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lee Weible, and by her brother, Max J. Arnold.

It was Ann's wish that only a brief committal service be held, but due to the inclement weather and for the comfort of those attending, the service will be held in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Friday, January 24, at 11 a.m. Pastor John B. Wallace will officiate. The family will accompany Ann to her burial in Dover's Maple Grove Cemetery. All those attending the service are invited to a luncheon in the Toland Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard at Dover. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Ann, please visit the Obituaries and Flowers link on the funeral home's website.

The family suggests that, instead of flowers, contributions in Ann's memory be made to the First Moravian Church, 319 N. Walnut St., Dover, Ohio 44622, or to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
