Ann C. Monahan

Ann C. Monahan, 69, a lifelong resident of Dover died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 at the Community Hospice House following a six month battle with leukemia.

Ann was a retired employee of the Dover City Schools where she worked in the cafeteria and was a teacher's aide.

Born May 30, 1947 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ruth (Welsch) Dreher.

Ann was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph High School and grew up as a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She and her husband, Harry attended various other Christian organizations. She also enjoyed antiques and was a dog lover. Ann never asked for a lot but was blessed with much. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and shopping for the perfect gift.

She will be sadly missed by her family that includes her husband of 49 years, Harry Monahan with whom she was united in marriage on October 7; a daughter, Kari (Damian) Staron of Dover; a son, Shawn (Elena) Monahan of Canton; four grandchildren, Ian Staron, Shawn Jr., Stefan, and Samuel Monahan; a brother, Barney (Amy) Dreher of Dunedin, Florida; a sister, Susan (Brad) Kollar of Palm Harbor, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by three sisters, Lori, Debra Diane, and Ruth Ann Dreher and her loved canine companion, Moochie.

Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 from 5-7pm. Pastor Duane Houser will officiate services at 11:00 on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
