Angelo A. Monaco

Angelo A. Monaco, 80, of Dover, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, in Country Club Retirement Center following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born Jan. 7, 1925, in Dover, he was the son of the late Joseph and Concetta Monaco. Angelo graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1945. He served honorably during two tours of duty in the Korean Conflict, and retired from the former Union Camp Chemical Co. following forty-three years of service. He was a loving husband, and a dedicated father.

Angelo was a member of St. Joseph Church, Dover, the Dover post of the V.F.W., the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and was a charter member of the Seventh Street Tigers.

An avid sports fan, he followed the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Dover Tornadoes. His hobbies included fishing and golfing, which he loved.

Angelo is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Marilyn Bache Monaco. He also leaves two sons and a daughter, Steve Monaco of Highlands Ranch, CO, Mark Monaco of Gaithersburg, MD, and Lisa (husband, Todd) Hallam of Columbus; a brother (wife, Agnus) Monaco of Dover, a sister, Frances Domingos, of Dover; and a brother-in-law, Perry Bache, also of Dover; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Froman, Ann Petrella and Margaret Fisher.

Angelo�(TM)s life will be celebrated in a service Sunday and 4 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a meal served in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
