Amanda L. Allison

Amanda L. Allison, 96, of Crooked Run Rd., New Philadelphia, and formerly of Winfield, died Sunday, March 3, 2002 in the Park Village Health Care Center.

Born July 14, 1905 at New Martinsville, West Virginia, she was daughter of the late Charles & Rhoda Williams Powell.

She had been a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church where she was active in the Ladies Aide Society and also as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Farm Bureau and Winfield Grange. Amanda was gifted with her hands and enjoyed gardening and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Allison, who died December 16, 1990.

Survivors include: son; Duane & Carol Allison of New Philadelphia, daughters Ellen Lawver of Dover, and Karen & Bob Vandall of New Philadelphia, a brother; Herb Powell of New Philadelphia and a sister; Pauline Moreland of Arizona, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Amanda was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and a great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 6, at 10:00am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Pastor Jim Borton officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7-9pm and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
