Alta Bair

Alta Bair, 88, a former longtime Strasburg resident died Tuesday, May 16, 2000 in the New Dawn Health Care Center.

Born March 29, 1912 in Holmes County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis & Ellanora Ott.

Alta had been a member of the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg and had most recently been attending the St. Johns United Church of Christ at Dover. She had also been a member of the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bair, who passed away on April 12, 1988.

Survivors include:
a sister Dorothy Huff of Dover
4 grandsons
7 great-grandchildren
3 great-great grandchildren
numerous nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband Alta was preceded in death by: a son, daughter, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 1 grandson and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00am in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Steven Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Friends may call in the funeral home on Friday from 5-8pm.
