Alice M. Maher

Alice M. Maher, 84, of Somerdale died Saturday, October 6, 2007 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.

Born September 29, 1923 in Somerdale she was a daughter of the late John and Myrtle Roberts Maher. She was also preceded by four sisters, Gladwyn Jackson, Frances Maher, Rita Johnson and Joanne Maher; two brothers, Jim and Don Maher.

Alice retired from US Ceramic Tile in East Sparta where she worked until she was 80, having never missed a single day of work for her entire career of 62 years.

She was a member of Somerdale Marinatha Bible Church and served as the secretary for many years. One of Alice�(TM)s biggest joys was following OSU football; she went to nearly every home and bowl game. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting with family.

Alice is survived by her long time companion, Fred Hardwidge of Somerdale; brother, John Maher of Dover; sister in law, Bonnie Maher of Somerdale; brother in law, M.L. Johnson of Columbus; many nieces and nephews; great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Peter Price officiating. Interment will be in the Somerdale Cemetery. Friends can call in the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral ceremony.
