Addie Eileen Weston

Addie Eileen “Buzzie” Weston, 70, of Dover, Ohio died Friday, August 15, 2003 in Union Hospital following a sudden illness.

She was a loving and caring mother. She was a housekeeper for her special friends, The Wendlings and Teresa Doriche.

Born May 15, 1933 in Sacramento, California, she was the daughter of the late Urthel and Jessie Dymes Weston. Her father played with the famous Cab Calloway.

Addie was the first African American woman to graduate from St. Joseph High School in 1952 where she graduated with honors. She was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church and the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover. She also formerly did income tax preparation.

She is survived by seven children Lardean Weston, Rose Marie (Steve) Scott of Columbus, Theresa Katherine Weston of Dover, Rose Ann Weston of Dover, Regina Kay Lovell of New Philadelphia, Carmeilla Lynn Weston of Dover and Raleigh Allen “Chops” (Angela) Weston of Dover; twenty grandchildren Reginald, Raphael, and Malcolm Weston, Maria Weston, Stevie Scott Jr. and Stephanie Scott, Cheyenne Scott, Orest Eugene Weston, Kimberly Monquie Saunders, Andrae Lateef Saunders, Brandi Nicole Weston, Bianca Nicole Weston, Lattina Sharee Weston, Moncheria Alet Weston, Antonio Allen Weston, Jada Weston, Annette Eileen “Baby” Weston, Jordan, Alyshia and Mitchell Meese; Four great grandchildren and her special companion, Alfred Dudley of Roswell.

Addie was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Kay Weston and the grandparents who raised her, Cassie and Riley Miller along with three brothers, Eugene, Richard, and William Weston.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Willie Sherrell officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
