Thomas W. Hardin, 62, of Dover passed away peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2018 in the Community Hospice Truman House.

Born January 18, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio he was a son of the late Manly “Bill” and Marie Straits Hardin. Tom graduated from West Holmes High School in 1974, received his bachelors degree from Ohio Northern University, and in 1981, he graduated from law school with his Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern. Following his graduation, he served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Anthony Celebrezze, the US Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge, was an Associate at Dinsmore & Shohl, Partner at Miller & Kyler, Partner at Hardin & Schaffner, and finally retired in 2012 at his own law firm, Hardin & Associates, LLC.

Tom was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and served on the Stewardship Board. He was a founding board member of Hospice of Tuscarawas County, was a member of the Tuscarawas County Board of MRDD and taught Business Law at Kent State Tuscarawas. He enjoyed animals, coaching youth sports at the YMCA, playing a round of golf, reading, and was an avid Browns fan.

Tom is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathleen “Kathy” Mosher Hardin whom he married on September 4, 1982; children, Megan Hardin of Bay Village, Brendan (Sarah) Hardin of Cleveland and a sister, Ann Hardin of West Lafayette.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 21 at 11:00 am in the Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Donald Rice officiating. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-7 pm.
