Stephen Michael "Steve" Hodkinson

Stephen M. “Steve” Hodkinson, 34, of Dover, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born August 20, 1982 in Cambridge, Steve was a son of Julie Postlethwait Hodkinson of Dover and Michael Steven Hodkinson of New Philadelphia. He graduated from Buckeye Trail High School in Lore City, and was employed by Inca Pallets, Dover, Pace-Sankar Landscaping, New Philadelphia, and Belden Brick Company, Sugarcreek. He was the father of four, and loved his children dearly. Steve enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, games of chance, and singing karaoke – especially Garth Brooks. He never met a stranger, and always tried to cheer others up when they were down.

In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his children, Adrianne, Alyiah and Brayden Hodkinson; his siblings, Michelle (David) Festi of Dover, Crystal (fiancé, Bill Titus) Hodkinson of Bowerston, David Hodkinson of Antrim, Lynn (Robbie) Meek of Scio, and Angela Hodkinson of Antrim; his friend and mother of his children, Vivian Luthi of New Philadelphia; his step-mother, Barbara Hodkinson of Antrim; his step-father, Ron Blauch of New Philadelphia; his grandmother, Arlene Gold Evans of Tarpon Springs, Florida; his nieces and nephews, Autumn Hodkinson, Austin Cochrun, Michael and Jenna Festi, and Alexis Brown; and his aunts, uncles and cousins.

His beloved son, Ethian Hodkinson, and his grandparents, Don Hodkinson and Raymond and Laura Postlethwait, preceded him in death.

Family and friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, July 2, 2 – 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 3, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Micah Hasty of NewPointe Community Church, Dover, officiating. Immediately following the service, the family will host a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
