Robert R. Everhart, 59, passed away at his home on September 5, 2017. Born on March 14, 1958 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Janet (McRobie) Bailey. Bob attended New Philadelphia High School until he joined the United States Army at the age of 17, later receiving his high school diploma while stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.

Showing and training horses beginning at the age of 15, Bob was a member of the AQHA, the Ohio Quarter Horse Association and 4H, where he met his future wife, Sue Reichman, with whom he shared the love of horses. They would marry on June 15, 1978, residing in Oldtown Valley for 32 years. They served as 4H advisors for many years and supported their own children’s involvement in 4H. After 32 years working for the city of New Philadelphia as the cemetery assistant, Bob retired. He and his fishing buddy, Mark Webber, restored a bass boat and enjoyed many hours of water until his declining health. Bob was a member of the NRA and loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and NASCAR.

He will be sadly missed by his wife and his children; Josh (Wendy Verret) Everhart of Mill Valley, CA, and Tierney (Damien) Laverty of Chesnee, SC; two granddaughters, Shelby and Siena Everhart of Mill Valley, CA; two sisters, Pamela (Jan) Byer of Canal Winchester, OH and Brenda (Dave) Little of Dover; and sisters in-law, Debbie (Stephen) Clinton of Canton, Lauri (Jeff) Mamarella, Kimberly (Greg) Chek, and Kelly (John) Fishley, all of Dover. He will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Stevi, David and Kevin; Zach and Devan, Jeremy, Erin and April; Jordan, Nicole, and Kate, Ryan and Matt; Mother in- law, Nancy Reichman of Dover; his close friends and cousins, Mark Kinsey and Bruce Parsons; and his fishing buddy and good friend, Mark Webber.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother; Ella Mae Kohler; father in law, Howard “Dick” Reichman; nephew, Christopher Chek; and good friend, Dave Vance.

In honoring Bob’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. There will be no funeral or calling hours. An open house is being planned at a later date. To sign an online guestbook, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website.

His wife, Sue, would like to thank her extended family and friends at Hennis Care Center of Dover for all of their love and support during this difficult time and Hospice for Bob’s Care.
