Phillip Rodger Boone

Phillip Rodger Boone, 61, of Bolivar died Sunday, April 16, 2017 in the Community Hospice Truman House.

Born December 5, 1955 in Dover he was a son of the late Robert and Laura Thompson Boone. Phillip was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Gene” Boone.

He was employed at the Avenue of Adventures in New Philadelphia. Phillip loved watching the Browns and enjoyed being with his friends at the Bolivar Group Home.

He is survived by, and will be missed by, his sister, Bernice (Warren) VanderWal of Missouri; sister in law, Cheri R. Boone of Stone Creek; nieces, Laura Jean (Paul) Olson of North Dakota, Sara Boone of Texas, Renee Muhs of New Philadelphia; nephews, Robert (Linda) VanderWal, Will (Lyndsi) VanderWal both of North Dakota, Nathan (Molly) Boone of Washington, Levi Kaser of Montana; great niece, Alyssa Jean Olson; great nephews, Danile Olson, Aaron VanderWal, Shawn VanderWal, Daxxon Muhs and Silas Lockard. Phillip will be missed by his friends and caregivers at the Bolivar group home, where he received love and nurturing care for over 30 years.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Brother David Millard officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
