James C. Chaudrue, age 79, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in his home with his family around him.

Born October 31, 1937, in Dover, he was a son of the late George and Lena Antonelli Chaudrue. James graduated from Dover High School and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He married the former Barbara A. Amick on December 11, 1964; the couple reared four children and shared forty-three years of marriage prior to Barbara’s passing on April 18, 2008. James was employed for many years by the Reeves Steel & Mfg. Co., Dover, from which he retired as a crane operator.

He was a member of the New Philadelphia post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Dover Zoar Gun Club. James loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His family also has fond memories of camping trips when they were young to Lake Lila in Coshocton County.

Survivors include his daughters, Margaret “Peg” (Tom) Smith and Amy (Roger) Beitzel, both of Dover, and Joan (Rick) Davidson of Zoarville; his seven grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Robert Chaudrue of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and Charles Chaudrue of Mineral City; his nieces and nephews, including Spike Antonelli; and his little dog, Susie.

Besides his parents, and his beloved wife Barbara, his son, Steve Morgan, preceded James in death.
