James A. Willis

James A. Willis, 78, of Bolivar died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Aultman Hospital.

Born April 30, 1938 in Hendrysburg, Ohio he was a son of the late Charles and Doris Rogers Willis. Jim was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Bauman.

He retired in 1998 from the Timken Company in Canton after 30 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked for his son at Willandale Golf Club in Sugarcreek for over 12 years. Jim was a member of Strasburg United Methodist Church and the GRA Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, golf and antique cars, but mostly, he loved being with his family, especially following his children and grandchildren with their sporting events.

A wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather, Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Vivian Lampe Willis whom he married on August 22, 1958; children, Jeff (Susie) Willis, Scott (Kathy) Willis, Teresa (Mike) Smith all of Strasburg; brothers, Gene (Vivian) Willis of Strasburg, Terry (Susan) Willis, Sam (Donna) Willis both of Dover; sister, Marlene (Tom) Garber of North Canton; grandchildren, Lindsay (Damian), Megan (Alan), Michael (Ashley), Missy (Kurt), Chase, Monica (Dylon), Maddie, Calvin, Charlie, Lili; great grandchildren, Riley, Lydia, Alayna, Bailey, Cecelia and Kadience.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 11:00 am in the Strasburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Jason Humble officiating. Interment will be at the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Friday from 5-8 pm.
