H. Wayne Harding

H. Wayne Harding, 80, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the New Dawn Retirement Center.

Born August 26, 1936 in Dover he was a son of the late Homer and Catherine Walton Harding. Wayne was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Walker; step daughter, Diana Stevens; five brothers and three sisters.

He retired from Empire Detroit Steel in Dover after 25 years of service and was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia.

Wayne is survived by his wife 49 years, Oveda Hardesty Harding whom he married on October 13, 1967; children, Diana (Michael) McMurry of Dover, Sally Jo (Wilmer) Eckelberry of New Philadelphia, John (Sherry) Harding of Uhrichsville, Thomas (Jenny) Harding of Dover; step children, Lucinda Septer, William Hoagland, Connie (Mike) Woolf all of New Philadelphia; brother, Ronald (Hilda) Harding; 22 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 28 at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
