Obituary for Elsie "Jeanne" Metzger

Elsie “Jeanne” Metzger, 83, of Baltic passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Oak Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center in Baltic.

Born in Dundee on June 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert Jack and Edna L. (Maus) Price. She graduated from Wayne Township High School in 1952.

On March 15, 1957, she married Carl Metzger who preceded her in death on September 29, 2006.

She worked as a cashier for Buehler’s in Dover, Alsco Anaconda in Sugarcreek, and the Southside Service Station in New Philadelphia.

Jeanne enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She also loved making cookies and candies for her favorite holiday, which was Christmas.

She will be sadly missed by her son; Bob Metzger of Lima; two daughters, Tammy Goolsby of Dundee, and Lisa Miller of Stone Creek; along with her grandchildren, Ryan (Chelsea) Goolsby of North Baltimore and Sierra Goolsby of Dundee, and Heather Miller of Dundee.

A graveside service will take place at Dundee Cemetery with Pastor Chad Stutzman officiating on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 1:00pm. Following the service, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions go to Community Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia.
