Elaine A. Hershberger

Elaine A. Hershberger, 86, and life resident of Strasburg, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the Park Village Health Care Center.

Born August 19, 1931 in Strasburg she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Lucille Bowen Slemmer. Elaine was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Hershberger on June 13, 2008; five brothers, Roscoe, Richard, Donald, Gary and John Slemmer; sisters, Christine Ecenbarger, Betty Lash and her son, John Hershberger.

Elaine retired from the former Junction Truck Stop in Strasburg after 40 years of service, and was a member of the Army Navy Club in Beach City. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, bowling, camping, bingo and trips to the casino.

Elaine is survived by her children, Rick Hershberger, Debbie (Chuck) Shearer, Kathy (Dan) Donato all of Strasburg, Tom “Jr.” (Kay) Hershberger, Lucy (Clint) Stamets both of Dover; daughter in law, Mary Hershberger of New Philadelphia; sister in law, Donna Domer; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 6:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-6 pm.
